Sugar Beach Interiors
Referred to as “A Design and Art Gallery” located in Destin, Florida, Sugar Beach Interiors was established in 1986 by Karen Waterfield and has since grown into a robust team of professional licensed designers. Our steadfast success can be attributed to a reputation for business integrity and a commitment to excellence, customer service, and creativity. The 10,000-square-foot Destin showroom opened in 1990 and includes high-end furniture from top contemporary brands along with original artwork, accessories, and more.
Our Services
Sugar Beach Interiors is not only a furniture showroom where you can find the perfect outfittings for your space; it is also a full-service design firm here to consult you on your next project, create a vision, and see your new interior through to completion with complete client satisfaction.
Focusing its design efforts predominantly along the Emerald Coast, Sugar Beach Interiors’ design staff has a well-honed ability to meld current trends in fashion and decor with Northwest Florida’s unique and timeless coastal traditions.
With a portfolio that lists Rosemary Beach, The Retreat, Kelly Plantation, WaterColor, Indigo, and Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort (including One Beach Club and Burnt Pine), to name a few, the team understands the varied design styles found in custom full-time residences and high-end vacation homes and condominiums found within the area’s resorts and planned coastal communities.
What types of services do you offer?
Sugar Beach Interiors offers a wide variety of services including: Bathroom Design, Color Consulting, Custom Furniture, Custom Rugs, Floor Plans, Furniture Selection, Interior Design, Kitchen Design, Living Room Design, Space Planning, Sunroom Design & Construction, and Universal Design.
What are the advantages of working with an interior designer?
An experienced interior designer will ensure fewer construction mistakes are made and will often save the client money in the long run. A professional designer helps you understand your needs and keeps you focused on your design goals without an emotional attachment to your existing furnishings or plans. A good interior designer is an educator, helping clients define and achieve the vision they’ve always dreamed about.
Will I save money by doing it myself?
No. An interior designer should be pulled in at the beginning stages to eliminate costly construction mistakes. By working with the architect and builder, they can ensure proper placement of electrical outlets, space planning for furnishing, and creative use of “built-ins”.
What is the difference between a decorator and a designer?
An interior designer is licensed by the state, has a formal education in design, building, and architecture, and must maintain his or her license through continuing education. Licensed designers are qualified to start with your blueprints and carry the job through to completion. Decorators assist with furnishing selections, do not hold a professional license, and do not have the level of education and experience necessary to become a licensed interior designer.
How do I select an interior designer that is right for me?
When you meet with a professional designer, he or she will explain the design process, how his or her process works, and how he or she charges for services. The designer will interview you about your individual needs and lifestyle, and it is important that both parties feel comfortable with the working relationship. Clients should keep in mind that the design experience is supposed to be pleasant and enjoyable.
